Over the last few months I have been commissioned to restore a range of caned chairs, including a fabulous Bentwood rocking chair, a painted nursing chair and a cane-backed armchair. All featured their own challenges, but I couldn't be happier with results.
This rocking chair needed the back panel to be French (blind) caned as the rear spline was too damaged to remove. This meant each individual strand had to be cut to length and glued at both ends.
This armchair has been the latest project and included more than 170 holes over the curved back.
This blue nursing chair was a complete makeover as it arrived completely covered in white paint, cane included. It was stripped back, repaired, repainted in Fusion Mineral Homestead Blue, and fully re-caned.
